How We Actually Test the Games We Review

How We Actually Test the Games We Review

July 29, 2026 · Marek Dvořák

People sometimes ask if we just play a game for ten minutes and slap a score on it. Fair question, since plenty of sites do exactly that. We don't.

Every game gets at least several hours across more than one device, usually a newer phone and a deliberately older one to check performance. If a game only runs well on flagship hardware, that goes in the review.

We take notes as we play — first impressions, where the difficulty spikes, where we got bored. Those raw notes shape the final piece far more than any marketing material we're sent.

The score comes last, and it's honestly the least important part. We'd rather you read the paragraphs and decide for yourself whether the game fits how you like to play.
